Anxiety, stress and burnout

Learning to rest helps us cope better with life’s everyday challenges, providing us with an opportunity to take a step back, gain some perspective and properly care for ourselves. A reflexology session enables you to hit the pause button and get some headspace away from life’s everyday demands. Your treatment can help you feel more grounded, getting you 'out of your head' and back to connecting with your body. Reflexology also helps to quieten negative thoughts, reduce feelings of anxiety and regulate your breathing. In addition, reflexology encourages the release of endorphins, our body's natural feel-good hormones. I can also incorporate breathing techniques and mindfulness exercises into your treatment, and give you some simple tips/exercises to take away.

Women’s health

As much as we need our hormones to function well, they do bamboozle us sometimes! From the onset of menstruation women can face challenges such as pre-menstrual syndrome, painful/heavy periods, endometriosis, fibroids, UTIs, fertility issues and menopause. Stress – and the unique daily pressures women often face – plays a big part in our hormones getting out of kilter. Whatever stage of womanhood you are at, reflexology is a safe, natural therapy that can give you back some balance. The deep rest reflexology provides can help you take a break from your mental load, soothe your emotions and rebalance your body, including your hormonal and reproductive systems.

Pregnancy, birth and postnatal

Reflexology is a safe, natural treatment to support you during any stage of your pregnancy journey. If you’re trying to conceive, being in a calm, relaxed state helps your body be in the optimum place to enable nature do its best. During pregnancy, a maternity reflexology session takes the pressure off your body, promotes good blood and lymphatic flow, and can help with swollen feet, legs and ankles. As you may not want to take medication during this time, reflexology may help to alleviate common pregnancy niggles such aches and pains, fatigue, restless legs and constipation.

As your baby's arrival gets closer, reflexology can give you some time to yourself in a safe, comforting environment, and I can share reflexology points that you might wish to try during labour. If your baby's anticipated arrival date has passed, you may also wish to try reflexology as a way of encouraging them to make an appearance! Reflexology is also wonderful postnatally because it helps your body and hormones rebalance after a period of significant change. Postnatal reflexology also gives you some much-needed nurturing, allows your body and mind to rest and promotes quality sleep. New baby is welcome too!
